Formula 1 is finally back. After a one-month forced break, all eyes turn to the Miami Grand Prix, one of the most vibrant stops on the calendar, both on and off the track.

First held in 2022, the Miami GP has quickly become a staple of the Formula 1 season. The race takes place on the first Sunday of May each year and, if no changes are made, will remain on the calendar until 2041.

Verstappen leads Miami wins

Despite its short history, the Miami Grand Prix has already delivered some memorable moments. Max Verstappen stands out as the most successful driver at the circuit, with two victories to his name. The other wins have been claimed by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

More than just a race

Miami is not just about racing, it’s a full-blown spectacle. From live performances to celebrity appearances, the event blends sport and entertainment like few others on the calendar.

This year’s line-up includes performances from artists such as Zedd and Nelly on the opening day, followed by Shaquille O’Neal (DJ Diesel) and Marshmello. On race day, Loud Luxury and Kane Brown will take the stage.

Last year, the paddock and grandstands were filled with stars, including Timothée Chalamet, Reese Witherspoon, and BLACKPINK members Lisa and Rosé.

Current driver standings

After the opening races, the standings have already taken an unexpected shape. Kimi Antonelli leads the championship with 72 points, followed by George Russell on 63. Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc (49) and Lewis Hamilton (41) remain within striking distance.

Further down the order, Max Verstappen sits on just 12 points, a surprising position for the reigning champion and a sign that this season could be far less predictable than expected.
